Here we are on the shore of Lago Maggiore in Italy and we
are right on the shore. From our motorhome take 10 steps and you are on the
beach. Ducks all around even 10 chicks chasing around. We are at Feriolo on the
western shore having driven down from Luzern (Lucerne) today. For the last 30
or so miles it was along a fairly narrow road following the shoreline I’m sure
Sue didn’t enjoy it at all as she is on the side of the van in the middle of
the road.
Luzern was lovely and so picturesque situated on the lake
and amongst the mountains. Such an amazing turquoise green colour to the water.
Our site was at the Lido, an easy walk into town and although pricey at almost
£34 its location made it worth it. Our journey to Luzern was along the edge of
the Vosges mountains, a lovely area with some amazing buildings and scenery.
Certainly an area to return to.

Before Luzern we had spent a night at Vittel in France and
yes, it’s the home of Vittel bottled water and I am assured that the water now
in our tank is straight from the same springs as the bottled stuff. We even
found a nearby Aldi.
Before Vittel we stayed a few nights in Luxembourg at a site
at Alzingen, an easy bus ride into the city. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t
brilliant but we still enjoyed our stay there experiencing the first digital
showers ever. A lovely clean, well placed site in a suburb of Luxembourg.

Before Luxembourg we had spent a night on an Aire at Bavay
on the French / Belgian border. When we arrived the actual Aire was full of
piles of sand and gravel and machinery so we stayed a little further along the
same road with a few other vans. We even discovered a Carrefour Market at the
end of the road to enable us to stock up with essentials.
It seems hard to believe that only a week ago yesterday we
left home and after spending a couple of days with my mum on Eastbourne here we
are many miles from where we started.
